The Theory Works is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy.
This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you will provide to us, will be processed by us. For the purpose of the Data Protection Act 1998 (in Germany according to § 3 Abs.1 BDSG) the data collector is William Penney, Eibenstr. 11, 90513 Zirndorf, Germany.
2. Data collection, processing and use of data
The data we may collect from you include information such as name, address, email address and phone number. We may collect information about your computer, including where available your IP address, date and time, as well as your type of browser and operating system for system administration. This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns. With these data, we cannot identify any individual, and this is not our intention.
We may collect and process the following data about you:
- If you contact us, we may keep a record of that correspondence.
- The Theory Works may also ask you to complete surveys that we use for research purposes, although you do not have to respond to them.
- Details of transactions you carry out through our site and of the fulfillment of your orders.
- Details of your visits to our site including, but not limited to, traffic data, location data, weblogs and other communication data, whether this is required for our own billing purposes or otherwise and the resources that you access.
The Theory Works will require you to provide particular personal information such as credit / debit card details and your billing address for the purposes of completing your order. We will only use this information for the purposes of managing your order or your usage of the website. If you wish to submit your additional personal information to us, you hereby also grant us your consent to process it.
The Theory Works will process and use your personal information in order to respond to your feedback – like responding to problems, improving our services and gearing what we do to suit your requirements further.
Your data will be provided to the shipping company (postal services) if this required to get your shipping processed.
Any payment transactions will be encrypted using SSL technology. Where we have given you (or where you have chosen) a password which enables you to access certain parts of our site, you are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.
Beyond this we will not share your information with any other company or third party without your consent unless we are required to do so by law. We will never sell your information to any other company.
3. Duration of data storage
Personal data which are provided to us via the website are only stored as long as the aim is fulfilled for which you contacted us. If we need to respond to storage regulations of the trade and tax law, certain data have to be kept for up to 10 years.
4. Collection, Analysis and useage of other information
We use session cookies that allow you to be remembered within the website, so any page changes or item or data selection you do is recalled from page to page. This means that you don’t get asked the same information that you’ve already given to the site. These cookies are temporary and are erased when you close your browser at the end of your surfing session. We use tracking cookies. These help us to remember your information and settings when you visit our website in the future. This results in a faster and more convenient access and may enhance your experience of services or functions we offer. These cookies remain on your hard drive until you delete them or they expire (they have varying expiry dates, going up to two years).
We also use web analytics cookies to help us understand what content is most useful to our visitors. They allow us to recognise and count the number of visitors and to see how visitors move around the site when they’re using it. This helps us to improve the way our website works, for example by making sure that users are finding what they need easily. Our cookies do not keep personally identifiable information. None of the data we get from cookies will contain information that will enable anyone to contact you via telephone, email, or any other means.
The information generated by the cookie will generally be transferred to the US and stored there. In case of an activation of the IP-anonymisation on this website, your IP address will be shortened within the EU member states. Only on rare occasions, the whole IP address will be sent to the server in the US and shortened there. We have asked Google to use this information in order to analyse the use of this website and associated internet services. The IP address which is generated through Google will not be merged with other data.
