How to Fit an Insect Ceiling™

An Insect Ceiling™ can be fitted to any closed shelter. In this example, the Insect Ceiling™ is attached to a 7:R shelter. On other shelters, the hook and loop tape needs to be gathered slightly as it is joined to the shelter. If necessary, the Rain Ceiling™ can be attached, removed or adjusted with the Insect Ceiling™ in place.

1. Check zips and Rain Ceiling™
Before fitting the Insect Ceiling™, make a quick check that the zips are all closed at the top and make any adjustments to the Rain Ceiling™. The insect ceiling can be fitted with or without the rain ceiling attached.
2. Start to attach the Insect Ceiling™
Attach some of the hook tape of the Insect Ceiling to the shelter.
3. Connect the zip
Join the two ends of the insect mesh zip together at the bottom, and zip completely together.
4. Complete attaching the Insect Ceiling™
Work all the way around the hook and loop tape, until the Insect Ceiling™ is completely attached. On smaller shelters, gather the loop tape on the insect mesh, making many small folds in the loop tape as it is attached. This will match the length of the insect mesh to the shelter.
5. Close the draw cord
Finally, pull gently on the draw cord to gather the insect mesh against the pole. To access the Rain Ceiling™, let out an intruding insect, or maximise ventilation, just release the draw cord to leave the mesh hanging open, as in the previous step.
