The Theory Works is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you will provide to us, will be processed by us.

3. Data collection, processing and use of data

3.1 Contact forms

We provide a contact form for the purpose of contacting us. We ask for your name, email address, a subject, and your message . This information is not stored on our website but is forwarded to our email system. We will only use this information to respond to your enquiry.

As you use the site, our analytics partner, Google Analytics, uses cookies to collect statistics on how users interact with our site. See “Analytics” below.

Users may disable cookies or delete any individual cookie. These cookies remain on your hard drive until you delete them or they expire (they have varying expiry dates, going up to two years).

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

When you put an item in your basket, three cookies are used to store information about the contents of the basket, and to which user the basket belongs. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

You can block cookies by activating the setting on your browser which allows you to refuse the setting of all or some cookies. However, if you use your browser settings to block all cookies, you may not be able to access all, or parts of our site, and might not be able to shop on the website. 3.3 Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

3.4 Analytics

The information collected includes IP Address, date and time, as well as your type of browser and operating system for system administration. This is statistical data about our users’ browsing actions and patterns. With these data, we cannot identify any individual, and this is not our intention.

Google Analytics collects Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to provide us with a sense of which country, state, or city in the world users come from (also known as “IP geolocation”). We use IP masking with Analytics, which means the exact IP address is not used or stored. Google Analytics also supports an optional browser add-on that – once installed and enabled – disables measurement by Google Analytics for any site a user visits. 3.5 Purchases

When you place an order we require you to provide particular personal information. We ask for your name, shipping and billing address, phone number and email address. If you wish to submit additional personal information to us, you hereby also grant us your consent to process it. We will only use this information for the purposes of managing, completing and shipping your order.

3.6 Passwords

When you register with our website, we ask you to provide a password so you can securely access your account. This password is stored in an encrypted form on our website, and we cannot see it, although website administrators can reset it. You are responsible for keeping this password confidential. We ask you not to share a password with anyone.

4. Data Sharing

When you purchase on this site, we share your name, address and contact details with the postal or shipping company so they can deliver your purchase.

If you pay by credit card, your card details are provided to our payment processor, Braintree, for the purpose of taking your payment. We never receive your full card details. Braintree’s privacy policy can be found here:

Beyond this we will not share your information with any other company or third party without your consent unless we are required to do so by law. We will never sell your information to any other company.

5. Data Storage

Personal data which are provided to us via the website are only stored as long as the aim is fulfilled for which you contacted us.

If we need to respond to storage regulations of the trade and tax law, certain data have to be kept for up to 10 years.

For users that register on our website we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their own personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

6. Your Rights

If you have an account on this site, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

7. Data Transfer

Our website is hosted in the EU.

The information generated by the analytics cookies will generally be transferred to the USA and stored there. Normally your IP address will be shortened (IP Masking) within the EU member states. Only on rare occasions, the whole IP address will be sent to the server in the USA and shortened there. We have asked Google to use this information in order to analyse the use of this website and associated internet services. The IP address which is generated through Google will not be merged with other data.
